First Christmas with the Van Story family (Kali Tal)

About 25 years ago, Alyssa brought me home to meet her family. At the time, I was estranged from my own parents and adrift in an unfamiliar state. Alyssa and I worked closely together and she knew I was dreading being alone for the holidays, so she brought me home for her family’s Christmas celebration. There was so much joy and love in their home! Albert was very kind to me, and warm, and made me quickly feel part of the family. Over the decades, as my friendship with Alyssa grew and became more of a family relationship, Albert and Joyce also became my family. I will never forget and always cherish the memories of welcome and acceptance that spring from every meeting with Albert and Joyce; these are some of my best memories.
